Georges Henri Maranda (January 15, 1932 - July 14, 2000) was a Major League Baseball pitcher from Levis, Quebec. He was one of three pitchers from Quebec, along with Ron Piche and Claude Raymond, who played for the minor league Louisville Colonels in 1959. In 1960 he played for the San Francisco Giants and in 1962 for the Minnesota Twins. Major League Baseball (MLB) is the highest level of professional baseball in the United States and Canada, consisting of teams that play in the National League and the American League. The two leagues merged in 2000 into a single MLB organization led by the Commissioner of Baseball after 100 years as separate legal entities.
